THE SCENIUS PRO.
The Scenius Pro. is a contemporary performance collective which dabbles into straight, dance, musical pieces, filmmaking and performance art. The Scenius Pro. was founded by filmmakers, TV producers, dance artists, theater practitioners and collegiate theater actors— who answered the call for the need of a dynamic group that could uplift the artistic awareness in the community.
The Scenius Pro. continues to develop its advocacy work for/with the Deaf community with Hear! Here! In 2016, as we tried to break barriers thru removing major modes of communication of both hearing and non-hearing (Speaking and Signing), we were able to share an experience on a common, same ground – thru sight, touch and taste - together.
This year, the process closely interacts and immerse with the community to make a performance which is largely led and participated by Deaf friends. We are looking at the possibilities of experiencing music at a different height – the rhythm, beat – as that of a Fellowship. This aims to discover more potentials the community can share and also hope to, somehow, help us, abled persons, to ignite change on how we see ourselves and the society.
